About Us
Founded in 2021 to expand local COVID-19 vaccine outreach and education initiatives.
Our Backstory
On June 14, 2021, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), awarded $125 million to support 14 nonprofit private or public organizations to reach underserved communities in all 50 states plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Freely Associated States.
The goal of this initiative is to develop and support a community-based workforce that will engage in efforts to build vaccine confidence and bolster COVID-19 vaccinations in diverse communities.
The Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations (AAPCHO) was awarded $9.5 million to develop and implement the CHW Workforce Collaborative to expand COVID-19 vaccine outreach and education initiatives led by Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and community-based organizations that currently serve vulnerable Asian, Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (A/AA and NH/PI) communities.
Our Local Partners
Our local partners are located across 15 continental U.S. states and Hawai’i, working on the ground with other local organizations in their communities to increase COVID-19 vaccinations. Collectively, they serve at least 36 A/AA and NH/PI language groups.
